Functional principle

Modern IT climate control technology ensures optimum thermal conditions in rooms exposed to high loads, such as data centres and server rooms. The main aim here is to ensure constant temperatures and precise humidity levels. Continuous-operation designs and redundant systems ensure that all key functions are maintained. Rittal CRAC systems dissipate waste heat on demand, ensuring that the overall system operates in the most energy-saving way possible.



CRAC system

A Cold water variant
  • The extracted ambient air is cooled in an air/water heat exchanger
  • The cooling medium (cold water) is supplied by an external IT chiller system
  • Must be connected to a water-carrying pipeline system
B Refrigerant variant
  • The extracted ambient air is cooled in a direct evaporator (air/coolant heat exchanger)
  • Integration of the coolant compressor inside the unit, for internal generation of the cooling output
  • Heat is dissipated from the cooling process via a condenser sited outdoors
  • Must be connected to a pipeline system filled with coolant
